Tiger Woods famous 7 Birdie Run Nike-made golf ball used during the third round (played on Sunday) of his 2005 Masters win at Augusta National. In April 2018, the Nike One Golf TW ball used by Tiger Woods on the first playoff hole against Chris Di Marco at the 2005 Masters, was sold in a U.S. based golf memorabilia auction for over 30,000USD As this sale price confirms, balls used by Woods during any of his four Masters victories, are virtually unheard off. Now we have a second. Indeed, some would say a more important ball given the story of his win?

Lot Information

I have added 2 images of Tiger Woods balls one placing on the tee & (2) Where he has put a straight line in black sharpie like the one offered here. PROVENANCE: The ?seven birdie? Nike gold ball was handed without comment to noted British On course golf photographer (name supplied) by Tiger Woods former caddie, Steve Williams, as he walked off the par-5, 13th to the 14th tee. Both had known each other for many years they became firm friends, with the photographer covering all of Woods major victories. The ball was later purchased by a prominent UK golf collector. This is the first and only time it has been offered for public sale. The purchaser will receive a typed letter confirming its provenance. In a rain affected tournament, Woods was forced to play catch up after a disastrous opening round of 74. Friday also proved a washout with the field playing catch-up on Saturday. Teeing off early in the morning, Woods bounced back with a six-under 66 for his second round. Six strokes back in third place, Woods knew he needed something special in the third round. Teeing it up late on Saturday afternoon, he reached the turn in 31 (five-under) with the help of 3 consecutive birdies on the 7th, 8th & 9th holes. Fading light then brought a halt to play for the day. Resuming his third round on Sunday morning, Woods began his day with four more consecutive birdies on the 10th, 11th, 12th & 13th holes, A remarkable run of 7 consecutive holes under par it tied a Masters record set by Steve Pate. Giving him a 65, Tiger went into the final round leading by 3 strokes over Chris Di Marco. Shooting a 71 (with the help of an amazing chip-in on the par-3, sixteenth) he beat Di Marco in a sudden death playoff late on Sunday afternoon. Many experts now credit his Masters victory to that remarkable 7 birdie haul in a third round that stretched over Saturday and Sunday. The ball used by Woods that week was a Nike One ?Gold?. The only difference between the one sold at auction and this one, is this ball has a black sharpie line over the ?OneGoldTW? stamp as was more usual with a Woods competitively used ball. (See iconic footage of Woods famous chip-in on the 16th hole where a sharpie line can clearly be seen,)
