The first and the rarest post-war British Open program. Won by the American Sam Snead, who shot 71 on this day. Snead beat both Bobby Locke, and Johnny Bulla both by four shots. The prize money awarded to Snead was 1,000 pounds. When asked if he would return to England to play again, he said no because it cost him more than the prize money to travel to England. A very rare program, the only copy I have seen signed that is available for sale.
