Very Rare Stone Glaze Pottery Sand Holder c1910. (In 40 years involved in golf memorabilia I have never seen one) Made by W T Knowles, it has their factory marks impressed. Perfect to display! Before the wooden tees (1920) Golfers teed the ball from a mound of sand, this is the container of that held the sand. A heavy vessel that has a series of holes in its base, this allowed excess water to drain away.
